Finland’s President Sauli Niinistö opened Lappset’s new factory in Estonia

The factory was inaugurated by the President of Finland, Sauli Niinistö, in conjunction with his official state visit to Estonia on 25th April 2012. Lappset‘s sixth subsidiary is logistically located at the gate to Europe.
The investment is worth close to three million euros and strengthens Lappset’s position on the global markets. By opening the factory, the company extends its production capacity and enhances its expertise in metal. Tallinn is logistically extremely well located at the gate of Via Baltica, the main road leading to European markets. The logistic location of Tallinn in Estonia was one of the main factors behind the investment.
Facts and figures: Lappset Estonia Oü was established as a subsidiary of Lappset Group at the end of 2011. The new production unit is located about 16 km outside the City of Tallinn, in the municipality of Saku. The factory manufactures metal components for Lappset’s playground and sports equipment as well as entire metal product ranges. The Estonian factory operates in rental premises of approximately 3,750 square metres, of which: Office space 160 m2. Production space 3 590 m2. Number of staff in April 2012: 12 persons, in full production capacity approx. 30 persons (in 2013).
Lappset Group Ltd is a Finland-based designer and manufacturer of outdoor play and sports equipment. Some 70 per cent of its product solutions are exported into more than 50 countries around the world (Europe, Asia and Australia). In 2011, the group’s consolidated turnover was approx. 47 million. EUR. The total number of staff is 350. Lappset designs playground equipment for children of different ages, parkour solutions for teenagers, outdoor fitness equipment for adults and exercise equipment for healthy ageing for senior citizens. Besides, Lappset has exclusive rights to the distribution of Angry Birds themed playgrounds all over the world.
