Photo

On Monday 11th October 2010 Tilo Eichinger, CEO of eibe Produktion + Vertrieb GmbH & Co. KG, and Mayor Martin Umscheid of the City of Röttingen officially opened the ActiveParcours at the Mühlkanal in Röttingen much to the delight of the local people. According to Tilo Eichinger, the ActiveParcours is not a playground in the true sense of the word, but a place for the entire population to meet, socialize and get some exercise. Martin Umscheid added that the fitness trail was already heavily used by people of all ages, ranging from young people to adults and senior citizens. The joint project between the association of administrations of Röttingen and eibe comprises an agreement according to which the City of Röttingen is responsible for the property as well as for maintenance and upkeep. eibe provides the equipment and thus has a local reference site. Through this synergy, Röttingen can boast another attraction and eibe presents its innovative products to its international customers.
Tilo Eichinger cited a quotation from the Institute of Sports and Sports Science of Karlsruhe University to highlight the importance of such a site: “Within the framework of health promotion, particular importance can be attached to the ActiveParcours, which aims at encouraging several generations at once to lead a more active and healthier lifestyle. From a social, ergonomic and safety point of view, the ActiveParcours offers optimal prerequisites for being physically active irrespective of your current fitness level and without having to force yourself to exercise. Besides, improved stamina, strength, mobility and co-ordination have a positive effect and enhance motor functions as a whole.“ (www.eibe.net)
