Fun and movement in a safe playing against the backdrop of a spectacular scenery

Every year, the unique fjord scenery of Norway attracts many active holiday tourists like a magnet. These tourists do not want to lie on overcrowded beaches or drink cheap red wine out of big buckets. They are nature lovers and want to do their body, mind and spirit something good. They enjoy spending their holidays with their families and like to be outside in the fresh air!

To cater for their needs, the operator of the Laerdal holiday parks, located close to the beautiful Sognefjord, provides for their younger and elder guests from far away a perfect infrastructure for an active holiday with a big motorikpark and gaming offers developed by merrygoround and suitable for all kinds of weather. Furthermore, this extensive range includes fitness options for all generations.

Both, the motorikpark and the playground are located at the fjord side. Basically, the playground is like a playable city, because there is a lot of life, both within and outside the small cottages and big houses. Playing here is always fun, regardless whether the weather is good or bad. Or, in other words, this playground has a very high "protection factor", because even if it is raining the children can play inside  without getting wet clothes, or, what would even be worse, without getting bored. The wide range of game offers meets the needs of children of all age groups.

Above all, the small play village is of great interest to the very small guests. The colourful group of playhouses for children, in traditional playground size, offers their young visitors fun and games, even with a roof over their heads. Each indoor playground includes specific thematic fields to be discovered bit by bit by its young guests. The wooden circular trail leads from one indoor playground to the next and all around the market place of the small village in the shape of a sandbox.

Adjacent to the idyllic village of playhouses one can find a lot of activity inside two big houses which have especially been designed to provide the children with appropriate rooms for risk-free playing and frolicking about. Each of the houses is an extensively equipped playing and adventure area with numerous entrances, a slide exit and - above all - a solid roof on top of it. The houses are adapted to the respective age groups. The play and action options of the small house are directed at children of pre-school and primary school age, whereas the bigger house is rather suitable and attractive for upper primary school age and older children. The roofs of both playhouses are of coloured acrylic glass which provides an atmospheric illumination while the children are playing below, thus providing an important additional emotional factor.

The sand house open on the sides provides fun and movement options, not only on warm days and is exclusively reserved for sand games. Under the shared roof there are four corner towers with four different bridge elements which at the same time form the inner courtyard with numerous equipment details such as sand lifts and sand slides.

Even when it is raining, windy or snowing there is a lot going on in the main playhouse which is especially protected by sidewalls. Numerous entrances made of ropes, wood or steel give access to the playing area which is mounted at 2.50 metres height. Once the children reach the top, they can play to their heart's delight and enjoy the climbing and balancing routes which are built of four platforms and connecting bridge elements, similar to the inner courtyard of the sand house.

All of this, the playing areas and fitness offers of the big motoric park are surrounded by a beautiful natural scenery. Long stays and frequent return visits of the young users and of those who feel young, are guaranteed.
