German youth welfare organisation development fund is welcoming applications until 31 March 2013
Initiatives, clubs and projects in the fields of child and youth employment have the opportunity, until 31 March 2013, to submit an application to the development fund of the German youth welfare organisation to be in with a chance of receiving € 5,000.
Applications can be made by clubs, voluntary organisations, initiatives, parent groups, child and youth organisations as well as school initiatives.
The German youth welfare organisation helped support 260 projects in 2012 through its development fund with a total of circa € 980,000. Projects, institutions and initiatives that have made child and youth participation the cornerstone of their work receive financial support through the fund. Important factors are participation in areas such as the development of democratic ways of life and environmental awareness, child-friendly changes in town or village, in school playgrounds, day care centre grounds or in playgrounds. Creating sensible recreational options and possibilities for the development of cultural identity and media competence are equally important funding priorities.
Taking this into consideration, projects are funded that help create interesting places to play in, where movement and exercise are promoted, in residential areas, schools and nurseries, or projects that serve to network, secure or recover play and recreational opportunities. Moreover, projects that encourage democratic and political engagement from children and young people shall also be supported, where participation in processes in youth institutions, school and their local area is made possible, or access to media is improved as well as the knowledge to utilise this media is imparted.
