Cross-generational fitness facilities in public space

Pieper Holz has never taken too narrow a view of what constitutes a playground.

The facilities built on the company’s own responsibility are always designed as settings for exploration and experience, where physical activity, imagination and social interaction mesh. It therefore makes perfect sense for the company to have extended its product range of late by adding varied outdoor fitness and exercise equipment that is intended not only for children and young people. The Pieper Holz company has complemented its extensive product range of play equipment and play facilities by various outdoor fitness and exercise equipment. With this new and innovative approach, the company dissolves rigid structures, takes sports equipment to the great outdoors and enables anyone to exercise at any time. The ergonomic equipment is not only intended as a cross-generational attraction and an addition to play facilities as well as fitness and exercise spaces to promote social inclusion but also to encourage a healthy joie de vivre and zest for life and promote vitality in people of all ages.
Under the motto “Fit in the open air”, the equipment gives people the opportunity to get fit and keep fit for free even without expensive gyms.
The fitness and exercise equipment is not geared towards top sporting achievements – the declared intention is to keep fit in a playful way. The wide range of fitness equipment enables healthy strength training for various parts of the body. Arm and shoulder workout, hip and joint mobility as well as gentle strengthening of leg muscles is possible either separately or in combination. Mobility and general physical co-ordination will thus be preserved as long as possible.

Besides, the attractiveness of parks, pedestrian precincts, leisure parks, campsites or motorway service areas is considerably enhanced. Moreover, housing estates, hotels, sheltered accommodation for the elderly, hospitals or health establishments can promote themselves by offering a new incentive and make a name for themselves.

The expansion of children’s playgrounds is another important field of application of the new fitness equipment. “I have back pain!” is no longer a sentence taken from a cabaret show, but has become the common catch phrase for a widespread disease. Nobody wants to take the playground benches away from parents or grandparents but it makes perfect sense to give them the opportunity to strengthen their muscles while their children are romping around. For this reason Pieper Holz develops cross-generational fitness facilities for the entire family, ranging from play facilities for toddlers to exercise equipment that can also be used by the physically disabled.

Pieper Holz always bears in mind the long life and durability of the equipment in daily use. The fitness equipment made from rugged materials such as aluminium or stainless steel is designed to withstand even extreme strain. Besides, the specialists also have well-proven products made from wood and aluminium in their range, which can be perfectly combined with classic wooden play facilities. Moreover, the ability to ensure that the fitness and play equipment blends into its natural surroundings is another strength of Pieper Holz. Benches, fences and even the indispensable litter bin can be selected in a uniform design.
So we have come full circle: fun, play, exercise and fitness to promote social inclusion in public space and the blending of the equipment into the urban or rural space ideally complement each other.
