Inspect First - Then Refurbish
In recent years, the number of artificial pitches used to practise sports has continued to increase, largely replacing old surfaces such as ...

This clogs up the pores and the surface becomes harder. As a consequence, the elastic properties of the safety surfaces (important in playgrounds) are reduced. Drainage is also no longer effective and moss and algae start to grow. The surface becomes slippery and the risk of injury increases for athletes. To prolong the durability of synthetic surfaces, intense regular cleaning is recommended that will also remove deeply ingrained dirt. Sandmaster provides a modern, efficient solution for this maintenance task:
Two special machines are used for this. One is for large spaces and the other for small spaces. The areas that cannot be processed by the machines, such as corners or areas beneath the play equipment etc., can be cleaned using an integrated high-pressure lance. The special thing about the cleaning procedure is that it doesn't use chemicals.
Special machine for large spaces:
The cleaning unit is attached to the front of the carrier vehicle. Fresh water is sprayed onto the surface through high-pressure rotating nozzles, sucked up as part of the same operation and then collected in a split tank for fresh and dirty water. The cleaning unit also has a spray boom for pre-wetting and rinsing and a spraying unit for the edge. Blocked or dirty drainage channels can be rinsed using a canalisation and drainage nozzle.
The cleaning machine is able to clean widths of 1.50 m in one operation. The areas of use primarily include spaces measuring from around 700 sqm, such as sports fields, stadiums, athletics tracks, multi-functional facilities, draining surfaces, tarmac and stone flooring. The machines can handle areas from 1.8 m wide and 2.4 m high.
Special machine for small spaces:
High-pressure rotating nozzles are also used to spray fresh water onto the surface for small spaces, sucking up water as part of the same operation and then collecting it in one split tank for fresh and dirty water.
The small, automotive machines are particularly impressive in demonstrating their capabilities when it comes to manoeuvrability and flexibility. Thanks to the compact size, the machine is even able to clean spaces that are difficult to access. This often pays off just on the way to the area of application. They can even get through standard gateways (at least 1.2 m wide). The low pressure tyres ensure that grassy areas are not damaged.
The small machine is primarily used for surfaces up to 700 sqm, such as playgrounds, smaller sports fields or even athletics tracks. Like the large cleaning machine, the small machine also produces clean results on stone, tarmac and draining surfaces in particular.
It is recommended that this kind of cleaning be performed once or twice a year to ensure the long-term durability of the surface. It has been shown that work can be performed much quicker using this procedure and above all achieve a cleaner result than with conventional high-pressure cleaners due to the removal of dirty water through the suction unit.
The specialists at Sandmaster are not only well equipped when it comes to cleaning solutions but they are also able to perform repairs on synthetic surfaces. Faulty sections are removed and refilled with a high-quality granulate. A fresh line marking, which leaves the space looking as good as new, rounds of the range of services.
