Huck group celebrated 50 years of Manfred Huck GmbH and 20 years of Huck Seiltechnik GmbH
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Huck group. In 1963 – right during the boom years of the German economic miracle – Manfred Huck had the idea of producing hand-knitted nets for football goals. Today, 50 years later, the Huck group has positioned its net and rope products in every conceivable segment: in sports, in the building trade, in industry and in the play and leisure time industry. With innovative products and technologies as well as quality “Made in Germany”, Huck sets standards in the net industry. Today the HUCK Seiltechnik company for instance, which was founded 20 years ago, is supplier for many playground equipment manufacturers in Germany and abroad. It produces rope play and climbing equipment as well as equipment for indoor and outdoor play areas. With the Original Bird’s Nest®, Huck is leading when it comes to fun and safety in play. Net bridges and climbing pyramids from Berhausen spice up zoos and leisure parks, beach areas as well as forest playgrounds.
To mark its big anniversary, the family-run business invited customers, employees, suppliers, neighbours and friends – and over 500 guests came, also to take a look behind the scenes of ropemaking technology during a company tour. Inside the large marquee, there were a lot of other attractions like the 50-member brass band Neuweier as well as the White Eagles band and impromptu artists with audience interaction. To match the Huck products, a net acrobat from Euroviva Entertainment enthused and delighted the guests with her show at a height of 8 metres. Wrapped in her white net like a caterpillar, she was hovering underneath the marquee roof and then acrobatically emerged from her chrysalis. Outside the marquee, the children could try out the new Huck climbing pyramids to their hearts’ content.
At the official ceremony, employees presented managing directors Stefan Huck, Valentin Huck and Wolfgang Keiner with caricatures. One of the highlights was the unveiling of an oil portrait of company founder Manfred Huck. In their short welcoming speeches, Asslar Mayor Roland Esch, the President of the Wiesbaden Chamber of Crafts Claus Repp and the CEO of the Lahn-Dill Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Andreas Thielmann emphasized the great significance of medium-sized family-run enterprises for the area and acknowledged the commitment and dedication of the family and its employees, who again and again meet the exacting demands of the international markets with passion and entrepreneurial spirit and put all their creative efforts in developing their company. That this is not just empty rhetoric is proved by the fact that Huck donated the proceeds of the two-day celebration to the children’s ward Peiper at Gießen University instead of accepting presents. There, children suffering from leukaemia or other forms of cancer are treated and their parents are taken care of.
