Trampolines magically attract children

Photo

Coming in all colours and sizes, they can be found at hotel complexes, leisure parks and camping sites. No wonder– trampolining is not only great fun, but it also keeps you fit, offers health benefits and improves co-ordination and balance. Trampolines magically attract both children and young people and thus represent an important competitive edge for any kind of leisure facility. After all, in more than 80% of all families children have a decisive say in the holiday destination and the facility.
But watch out: Especially with trampolines that are to be used in a public environment it is important to incorporate safety aspects into the planning. Installing a trampoline whose use is for free and unsupervised involves legal risks for the operator, in particular in case of accidents, as certain types of trampolines are classified as sports equipment with regard to their design, performance and capacity and therefore can’t be used in playgrounds. One exception to this are trampolines that comply with DIN EN 1176, the European standard for playground equipment, and are therefore officially regarded as play equipment. Such trampolines can be installed in any public environment without a (legal) hitch – without obligatory supervision.
On trampolines with a relatively small jumping area, which allow only one child to bounce at a time, collisions being one of the most common causes of accidents on trampolines are precluded to the greatest possible extent – as are high-risk manoeuvres on the trampoline such as somersaults, back flips or stomach front flips. Besides, ground-level installation as well as a reduced level of jumping performance in combination with suitable fall protection, like for example safety enclosures, prevent jumpers from falling from a great height as well as help prevent injuries or accidents arising from people standing under the trampoline’s hazardous jumping area. Compact playground trampolines, like for example the Eurotramp Kids Tramp, combine minimal risk of accidents with maximum fun.
