Complete refurbishment of the sports ground “Tennenplatz” in Nürtingen

Complete refurbishment of the sports ground in Nürtingen – world class coating for top establishments

Photo

All the more unfortunate that the refurbishment of the playing grounds had only been a dream for so long in the district of Neckarau.

In 2009 the dream became reality. According to the motto “if you are going to do it, do it right” the Swabians used all their labour and funds. The complete refurbishment was undertaken with the help of experienced sports facilities builder and Porplastic partner Kutter. The result: top-class sports grounds which meet all the technical, sports-functional and aesthetic demands.

The company Kutter manufactured the entire foundation and the specialists of Porplastic Engineering applied the heavy duty coating, Porplastic SW competition – a good example of well-rehearsed team work in the Porplastic Group, which benefits builders, operators and athletes alike. The attractive colour combination of the tracks and segments, which builders were advised to use, leaves nothing to be desired when it comes to aesthetics.

The new Nürtingen gem was tested with the official inauguration at a world class level: the national selection of athletes from Jamaica made use of the opportunity to do their final training on the new tracks – on a type of coating which is comparable to that used on the Berlin Olympia Stadium. Their comments were equally as positive as those of local worthies and dignitaries who competed at the sports festival.

Inclusive sports and inclusive sports facilities – still a long way to go

Inclusion and inclusive infrastructure design are still very topical issues. On the one hand, this is very positive and shows that people are aware of the issue and also want to promote it. On the other hand, however, it also shows that we are not making as much progress as we would like to and that there are still clear deficits.
