The fitness equipment for playgrounds

Photo

The brand-new i-play® system encourages and challenges children, young people and adults alike to engage in physical activity.
The electronic play system consists of a metal frame with three cylindrical-shaped legs. On each of the legs, there are various activity switches that need to be activated by being turned, pushed, pulled, cranked, stamped, pressed, etc. A solar-powered computer, which is positioned above the user at the intersection of the three legs, controls the game. The i-play® issues voice commands, notifying the player to activate one of the switches. LED lights placed on each switch flash to indicate which switch must be activated. The LED lights and voice commands give visually and hearing impaired players the opportunity to play.
The i-play® system was developed by leading sports technologists at Loughborough University in Great Britain. In particular, the world-renowned spin-out company PST (Progressive Sports Technologies Ltd.) was involved. The i-play® system was developed against the backdrop of an increasing number of overweight or obese children who can no longer be encouraged to quench their thirst for activity. 40 installations in Great Britain speak for themselves. The i-play® system is solar-powered and can be installed anywhere. i-play® has also been available in Germany since January 2011.
