New play unit ties in with EYFS review

A new play unit for children aged 1-4 could help achieve many of the benchmarks set out in the recently reviewed Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, according to UK play equipment specialists Sutcliffe Play.

Its launch coincides with the recommendation from Dame Clare Tickell, Chief Executive of Action for Children, which states that the EYFS should be made simpler and more focused on key areas such as physical development and communication and language.
“Dame Clare has recommended that the EYFS focuses on children’s ability to develop and learn healthily, ensuring they have the basic communication skills they need to thrive when they start school,” explains Dave Brady, Design Director at Sutcliffe Play. Constructed from metal, Minizone is designed to be hardwearing and endure the elements for years to come. Its polyurethane decks, meanwhile, provide soft surfaces for children’s comfort and safety. With a fall height of less than 60cm, Minizone requires no safety surfaces and features high-quality materials specifically selected for safety and convenience such as non-slip deck surfaces and maintenance-free laminated panels.
