Colchester Zoo chooses eibe for Safari Park launch
Almost a year after the initial conversations took place with the eibe team, Colchester Zoo has opened its doors to an all new Kid’s Safari Play Area.
Having submitted design plans (shown here) and subsequently winning the demanding tender process, Kevin Field, eibe’s Outdoor Play Consultant, worked with the zoo’s major stakeholders to ensure the project was completed on time for the busy Easter period in 2012.
There is a wonderful array of play features on offer at the popular Essex site including two towers with a ‘Lion Lookout’ tower over 9 metres high; from here, kids can fly down a tube and three lane slide. There are resin bonded wheelchair friendly paths with DDA approved equipment, as well as a lower level savannah boardwalk area for younger children to enjoy.
Colchester’s Kids' Safari is open for all visitors to start exploring now!
