Porplastic City – The Rose of Tiflis

The capital of the young Republic of Georgia executes a challenging project of urban design.

Photo

Since 2009 and up to 2012 they build on 8 hectares a big variety of recreation objects. The infrastructure is totally put underground with a tunnel and carparkings while on surface people find a row of attractions: e.g. musical theater, exhibition center and entertainment center. Main part is an ample park inviting to have a walk, use the sportive activities or just relax. A multifunctional art element is the “rose” with its 110 meter long sleeves. Formed by concrete the surface is totally covered by the elastic PU-bound Porplastic City coating which allows a horizontal, vertical or freely formed application. The Georgians love it and use it with high frequency. (www.porplastic.com)
