Sutu: the interactive sports wall. The world is changing and that affects the way children play. Sutu keeps up with this new play world and combines all the positive aspects of gaming (excitement, competition, progressing to higher levels) with all the good aspects of outdoor recreation (social development, healthy exercise, neighbourhood involvement). Sutu encourages both children and adults to play actively outdoors instead of sitting in front of the computer or TV.
Sutu is an interactive sports wall with 16 impact-sensitive panels and LED lights. The coloured LED’s, a voice and motivating sounds constantly give the player(s) feedback. The challenges and encouragement in the numerous games keep stimulating players to exert themselves physically and push their limits. Gaining a new high score involves a lot of hard work but also a great deal of satisfaction. And it is even better when you do it with a friend. Sutu is fun to do and gives you plenty of exercise but at the same time it is also a great way to improve your technical skills.
Sutu: How does it work? The 16 Sutu panels are impact-sensitive and individually measure the ball shots. Clear, coloured LED’s give feedback to the user about how the games are going. Parts of the panels light up if they need to be hit, or colours indicate which player’s turn it is. When a player pushes the button the Sutu gives a brief game explanation.
Sutu in public space: Sutu has been especially designed for outdoor use in public spaces. Thus you create a free outdoor play environment that inspires people to go outside, to meet, to play, to do sports and to have fun. wieder nach draußen zu gehen. Especially in urban spaces the low threshold to use the Sutu makes it very attractive for children and adults. For it is free and easy to use as well as to access. You just push the button and play! The Sutu panels are made from 15 mm thick polycarbonate. A strong and transparent material that is particularly impact-resistant and can cope with large temperature variations. It is therefore used in bullet-proof “glass” and in the shields carried by riot police, for example. The Sutu housing is made from galvanized and powder-coated steel for optimum protection against rust and vandalism. In fact, an extra strong type of steel was even chosen for most of the welded components. The Sutu frame is 3.25 metres long and 2.20 metres high. Further information: www.lappset.de
