Just what has been missing!

A unique playground built from Robinia wood has been opened at the Naturfreundehaus Grethen (Grethen Friends-of-Nature House) in the district of Leipzig.

The Leipzig Friends of Nature in Grethen near Grimma offer “pure enjoyment of nature” and relaxation at their Friends-of-Nature House set amidst woods and meadows. However, one thing has been missing so far: a large activity playground nestled amidst this beautiful and idyllic scenery. As there is so much out there around the Friends-of-Nature House waiting to be discovered and explored in particular by children, the many little visitors were also to be given an opportunity to play and romp around. The idea of expanding the area by adding a large adventure playground with a central tree house arose. In particular, this playground had to be natural, creative and unique. The Ziegler Playgrounds A – Z company has succeeded in creating an exceptionally designed playground which blends perfectly into the scenery with its natural Robinia wood elements. For the sap-clear heartwood of the native Robinia tree, from which all playground equipment is made, keeps its natural shape and character during processing and is thus ideally suitable for this project. In conjunction with a highly original concept, a tree house was built, which as of now holds exciting elements such as wave wobble bridges, spiral staircase, a climbing net tunnel system as well as a long tube slide made of stainless steel in store for little nature lovers. Open spaces for loud and wild games

Open spaces represent an important opposite world to the domesticated, digitised, traffic-loaded everyday life of metropolitan children. In this context the Waller Sand beach park in Bremen shows how both children and the entire city population benefit from natural open spaces.
